New Haven Summer School provides academically gifted students aged 9-18 with an immersive pre-university experience in partnership with leading U.S. institutions, a model pioneered in 1984. The program offers two distinct pathways: intensive preparatory courses for university admission and specialized courses across more than 80 disciplines, from core academic subjects to creative and athletic electives.
Held on the historic Yale University campus, students live in supervised residential halls with roommates, participating in a full schedule of 20 weekly lessons. The all-inclusive program features a complete leisure and excursion agenda, with weekly full-day trips. A structured daily routine balances academics with on-campus sports and evening social events, while older participants enjoy gradually increased autonomy.
This unique environment allows talented students to deepen their subject knowledge, connect with like-minded peers, and experience life at a top-tier Ivy League university, all within a supported and well-resourced setting.
